What are Music Fungible Tokens (MFTs)?
Music Fungible Tokens (MFTs) are blockchain-based tokens that enable music fans to directly benefit from the success of artists they support. As an MFT holder, you receive rewards proportional to the success of the song or album associated with your token.
How do I buy an MFT?
To purchase an MFT, you can participate in a Free Drop or a Pre-Sale on the Opulous platform. Start by collecting tickets on the tickets page, which you can then use to participate in the drop. If the sale has ended, you may find MFTs available for purchase from other users on OpenSea.
How do I collect rewards?
MFT rewards are distributed quarterly, at the end of January, April, July, and October. The system captures a snapshot of all token holders on the distribution date. Rewards can then be claimed via the Rewards dashboard on our platform.
Can US citizens participate in MFTs?
MFTs that are freely distributed to users are available to all users regardless of location. However, MFTs sold through a Pre-Sale require completion of a KYC process, and due to regulatory restrictions, we cannot offer these to US citizens.
How do I trade an MFT?
MFTs can be traded on OpenSea. Additionally, Opulous is developing its own MFT Exchange, expected to launch later in 2024, which will provide another venue for trading.
